Puff was rescued from Palm Beach Animal Control where she was at risk of being euthanized. She was found roaming the streets of Florida as a stray and was suffering from severe skin irritation and hair loss as a result of having been infested with fleas. Her then foster-mom and now forever-mom, Sara Buchbinder, provided Puff with the love and care needed to start her healing process. Today, Sara and Puff have found a lasting bond together that will bring them both years of happiness and joy. A special thanks to Tanis Whyte for her outstanding veterinary services and to Pet Spot for providing the grooming. We love you all!!

Lamb was rescued from MDAS kill shelter where he was stuck in a cage with very little hope of finding a home (see photo). This week Lamb was officially adopted by a great family who loves him with all their heart. We are so happy for you Lamb! Happy Tails extends a very special thanks to his fosters Kate Britten and Victoria for their outstanding volunteer service as dog fosters. Lamb is where he is today because of your love and dedication to him.
Mattie (now named Tebow) has been adopted by the Maya Family! He was originally rescued from MDAS where he was found in C-Ward all matted with a large laceration on his neck. After being rescued, Mattie was groomed and treated for skin issues and the laceration. He healed quickly and was able to find a loving home. Here he is pictured playing on the bed with his new brother and sister (William and Molly).
Ming and Nappie adopted Benny and have welcomed him into their loving home. Benny was originally rescued from MDAS where he was in C Ward suffering and at risk of being euthanized. He had undergone a tail amputation that later became infected. After being rescued, Benny had to undergo a risky second tail amputation which turned out to be a success. Here is he today, pictured together with his new family happy and ready to live out the rest of his life being spoiled!! We wish you all the best Benny, Ming, and Nappie!
Happy Tails rescued Lady from MDAS in December of 2015, where she was in C Ward with a broken pelvis and in really bad shape. Her foster dad, Denny, gave her the love and care she needed to where she is now walking around and making a great recovery. Denny loved her so much he just couldn't let her go. Here they are pictured together - we wish you both all the best together!
Havana was officially adopted at our Pet Supermarket Adoption Event by Sandie of Boca Raton. We wish you both lots of happiness together. Here is Havana enjoying a day at the beach and playing with her newfound friend at the dog park. Life is good for Havana!!
Dora has been adopted by Clare and Tom McClure! Happy Tails is excited to announce that Dora was adopted this week on Mother’s Day! She is pictured above with her new mom, Clare, who is glowing with joy. Clare and Tom are volunteers with Happy Tails and are the perfect parents for Dora. Happy Tails wishes Dora and the McClure’s years of happiness together.
SPECIAL THANKS: We want to give special thanks to Omar Felix and Amanda Svatey and her fiancé Nolan for fostering Dora. You all took great care of her. We also want to thank Tanis Whyte for her veterinarian services, Eric Fountain for helping with Sunday’s adoption event, and those who continue to donate funds. All of our combined efforts continue to make stories like this possible. Negrita has been adopted by Rita and Randy Conway! Happy Tails is so excited to see Negrita so happy with her new family (and her new red sweater). Just weeks ago, Negrita had little hope at MDAS but now she is so loved by her new family where she enjoys sitting on her daddy’s lap in the sun. We wish you all the best.
Pooh Bear is smiling ear to ear in the lap of his new mommy, Victoria Smith! Pooh Bear is happy today, but he had a challenging journey ahead of him before finding his forever home. After he was rescued from MDAS in July, Pooh Bear had to undergo emergency surgery for an anal hernia that was preventing him from passing waste. Its dogs like Pooh Bear who are at the greatest risk of being euthanized at MDAS because they are older and in need of costly vet care.
Fortunately, with the help of Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists, he was able to get through his surgery successfully. Today he is able to live a happy and healthy life together with his new mommy. Success stories like this are the reason Happy Tails continues to do the work we do. We love you Pooh Bear!
These empty nesters recently lost their beloved dog whom they had for over 15 years and were hoping to fill their home again with the pitter patter of little paws. When they met Fred (on left) and Ralphie (on right) at the shelter there was an instant connection. Fred and Ralphie began playing with each other and it was hard to resist the chemistry between them. Both of these dogs were rescued from MDAS and had difficult beginnings, but now they found each other and a great couple who will spoil them. It took the groomer 4 hours to shave Ralphie! We want to give a special thanks to Ralphie's foster mom, Jenna, and to Fred's foster mom, Debbie. You both did a tremendous job caring for these boys.
This little baby was an owner surrender at MDAS, which means that her previous owners gave her up for unknown reasons. At MDAS she was scheduled to be euthanized due to the fact she tested positive for heartworm. We rescued her, days before she was to be put down, and treated her heartworm condition (thanks to help from Banfield Pet Hospital in Delray Beach). Here she is today pictured below with a big smile on her face posing together with her new family! She loves them and they love her very much. She is pictured below in her summer bikini ready for the beach. This is truly a "Happy Tale"!
